What We Believe
I am not a politician! I am a public servant! I am running for Ward 5 City Council to ensure our children obtain the best education possible to prepare them for the future. I am a candidate who has an open mind, a willingness to listen and learn, and that means to listen and learn from the students, the parents, and the teachers. I will continue to promote scholarships for college-bound high-school students and advocate for volunteers to tutor in Ward 5 schools struggling with low reading and math scores.
Combat crime with realistic goals starting with maintaining an office in Ward 5 throughout my 4-year term in areas deemed unsafe. Hold local companies accountable to give first preference to unemployed Ward 5 residents. Advocate local businesses for employment and apprenticeship programs. Offer incentives to those lacking a high school diploma to return to the classroom. Grant opportunities to the less fortunate and partner with local churches to assist with outreach.
Advocate redefining "Affordable Housing." Hold developers and DC Housing Authority accountable for creating affordable housing. With the city prospering, the population is expanding, and the real estate market is exploding it's time to stop taxing seniors’ fix-income retirement. Advocate tax credit retroactively restored, reverse "2014 Pension Exclusion" to prevent homelessness among seniors. I will continue to advocate to feed the hungry and to give dignity to the poor.
